Iquitos. The Torres Causana District Municipality and the Center for the Development of the Amazonian Indigenous (CEDIA), met on July 12 in order to evaluate the possibility of working together to develop projects that benefit the communities that are settled in that jurisdiction.
Enrique Coquinche Coquinche, district mayor, Alberto Romero, president of CEDIA, Candy Vilela, responsible for inter-institutional relations and Rony Villanueva, specialist in natural resources, agreed that the signing of an agreement between both institutions would allow to join efforts and contribute to the development of the area. .
Torres Causana is one of the eleven districts of the province of Maynas, located in the department of Loreto. The municipality has previously been actively involved in the process of preparing the Master Plan for the Airo Pai Communal Reserve, a high-level document that guides the development of participatory management of this protected natural area that CEDIA has been supporting.
