With this norm, the native and peasant riverside communities that had been developing surveillance and control activities of the natural resources in their territories, will obtain the legal backing of the competent authority, empowering them to take actions against any affectation caused by third parties. They may also request the involvement of the corresponding authorities.
The application of this regulation seeks to reduce and / or avoid the loss of forests due to deforestation. Only in 2018 the loss of these amounted to 5,492.16 ha in the province of Mariscal Ramón Castilla, with Teniente Manuel Clavero being the area with the greatest loss with 2,766.78 ha (Source Bosques.gob.pe / MINAM)
The standard was the product of several work meetings led by the Regional Management of Forest Development of the Regional Government of Loreto where the Center for the Development of the Amazonian Indigenous - CEDIA participated, in order to support the strengthening of surveillance and control of forest resources and wildlife in the region.
Likewise, it was sought to establish an alliance with the native and peasant riverside communities to have a participatory management mechanism for the prevention, reduction of pressures, threats and affectation of their territories. The following actions will be focused on the development of a Training Plan for Forest and Wildlife Custodians.
