The recognition of this type of ecosystems means an advance in the forest zoning process for the region.
For the approval of this list, the technical team made up of the Regional Government of Loreto, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture - DRAL and other regional directorates involved with land use planning, non-governmental organizations such as the Instituto del Bien Común - IBC, Naturaleza y Cultura Internacional - NCI, Law, Environment and Natural Resources - DAR, Amazónicos por la Amazía - AMPA, Peruvian Society of Environmental Law - SPDA and the Center for the Development of the Amazonian Indigenous - CEDIA, work was done on gathering information, processing technical files and compilation of information necessary for these to be considered as priority sites for conservation.
CEDIA has been supporting this process since 2017, facilitating field work for inspection in the areas of Airo Pai, Tapiche- Blanco Aguas Calientes Maquía. These last two, in addition, have been promoted by the neighboring communities to establish themselves as regional conservation areas in Loreto.
