Iquitos. The regional officials of the Regional Management of Indigenous Affairs of Loreto (GRAI) seeking to give Priority to the need to protect Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact (PIACI), participated on November 13 of this year, in the workshop that worked on the conceptual bases and current regulations for the protection of isolated peoples in Loreto.
The event was held in La Maloca of the Regional Office for Citizen Participation of the Regional Government of Loreto. It was in charge of specialists from the Directorate of Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact of the Ministry of Culture (MINCUL).

The implications of the Yavarí-Tapiche Indigenous Reserve, recently created, were addressed. Likewise, the importance of the PIACI Loreto Table was discussed as a regional technical space for the protection of isolated peoples.
The activity was carried out with the support of the Center for the Development of the Amazonian Indigenous (CEDIA). This was part of the commitments made in the inter-institutional letter of understanding that the institution has with GRAI.
