The Regional Government, through the Loreto Regional Authority and its Executive Directorate for Conservation and Biological Diversity, has been leading the process of establishing the proposed Aguas Calientes Maquía Regional Conservation Area. In this context, between November 14 and 19 of the present, the verification of the Priority Site for Conservation Aguas Calientes Maquía, located in the province of Ucayali, was carried out as part of the development of Module I: Map of Prioritized Ecosystems for Conservation of Biodiversity, of the Forest Zoning process in the Loreto department.
This verification process is executed according to the guidelines of the Forest Zoning Methodological Guide and the Protocol for the Identification of Prioritized Ecosystems for the Conservation of Biodiversity of SERFOR (which evaluates the value of conservation and conservation response), in the In the case of Loreto, base information was taken from RO N ° 025-2016-GRL-CR, which approves 9 Priority Sites for the Conservation of Biological Diversity in the Loreto department, it also includes the proposals and concessions of conservation and ecotourism you grant, and environmental conservation areas.
These days of verification in the field are developed within the framework of an articulated work of the ARA Loreto and its strategic allies CEDIA, IBC, Nature and Culture, SPDA. The result of this verification information will also allow a standardized procedure to be applied in all regions that begin their approval process for the first module of forest zoning.
For the ACR Aguas Calientes Maquía proposal, the technical report will be obtained with the evaluation and validation of compliance with the criteria to be considered as a priority area for the conservation of biodiversity. According to the Work Plan approved in a session of the Technical Team of ZF de Loreto, the verifications will be carried out on the proposals of the ACR Medio Putumayo - Algodón and Pueblo Shawi (between November 20 and December 5). Subsequently, SERFOR will announce the results of these first three verifications to ARA Loreto in the fortnight of December of this year, and with this will proceed to support the evaluation of overlap with BPP with SERNANP, and continue with the phase of establishment of the ACR proposals promoted by GORE Loreto.
For CEDIA, the physical sanitation of the area where the ACR proposal will be established is fundamental, therefore, it is of particular importance for us to support the articulation between authorities, local, regional and national, linked to the establishment process, and generate the conditions so that they can carry out their work in the best way possible.
