Iquitos. On the 16th and 17th of this month, the Regional Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the East (ORPIO) held its Ordinary General Congress in the city of Iquitos. The objective of this was the presentation of the projects that they have been managing in favor of the indigenous population, in addition to the election of the new Board of Directors for the period 2018 - 2021.
CEDIA, as an ally of ORPIO, presented a brief summary of the projects and activities that it has been carrying out in Loreto. These projects include the Expansion of the Airo Pai Communal Reserve, Conservation of fragile ecosystems in southeastern Loreto, and Building durable conservation areas and strengthening governance in the Yavarí-Samiria Mosaic.
We continue to work together for the well-being of indigenous populations and the Amazon.
