Requena. The communities of the basins of the Tapiche and Ucayali rivers in the province of Requena, Loreto; They participated in the monitoring workshops for their Life Plans, this follow-up exercise allows them to identify their main advances in relation to what is proposed in their Annual Operating Plans (AOP) that are part of their Life Plans. The workshops were held from February 15 to March 3 of this year, strictly complying with health protocols in accordance with national regulations for the prevention of COVID 19.
One of the activities that most of the communities identified was the monitoring of their Vigilance Committees since they ensure the care of the natural resources of each community.
The native communities that updated their plans were Nuevo Huacarayco, Cedro Isla, Nuevo Pumacahua, Yanallpa, San Antonio, Santa Rosa, Luciana located on the Ucayali River and Yarina del Tapiche, Nueva Unión, Francisco Bolognesi, Villa Nueva Reforma, Villa Buen Jesús de Paz, Yarina Frontera Topal and Limón Cocha; peasant communities Tres Hermanos from Bajo Tapiche, San Pedro del Tapiche, Puerto Ángel, Canchalagua and Morales Bermúdez.
The activities were carried out within the framework of the project “Building Durable Conservation Areas and Strengthening the Governance of the Yavarí-Samiria Mosaic” funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
