Lime. Starting today, the entry of single-use plastics (bags, straws and technopor containers) to the country's protected areas will be restricted, the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp).
«Travel and tourism agencies, guides, support staff and visitors to the 76 Natural Protected Areas nationwide are reminded that from December 18 the entry of single-use plastics to these protected areas will be restricted«He reported.
In that sense, recommended that visitors use "environmentally friendly alternatives" such as canteens or tomatodos in order to avoid the use of plastic bottles. Likewise, he urged the use of cloth bags or other reusable material instead of disposable bags.
He pointed out that this provision obeys Supreme Decree 013-208-Minam, which approves the reduction of single-use plastic and promotes responsible consumption in Executive entities, as well as the bill approved by the Plenary of Congress last 5 December, which regulates the use of plastics in Peru.
He indicated that this measure seeks to guarantee the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems that turn our protected areas into unique spaces of great natural wealth.
