Loreto. The Regional Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the East (ORPIO) solicitous to the National Service of Natural Protected Areas by the State (SERNANP) that it is a priority to establish the Aguas Calientes Maquía Regional Conservation Area, given the lack of protection that indigenous peoples currently live in isolation (PIA) due to the delay in the creation of the Indigenous Reserve Sierra del Divisor Occidental (RISDO), which has been without progress for two years.

Increasing threats of illegal logging and other activities have alerted surrounding communities to the request of the RI Sierra del Divisor Occidental. This is worrying because it does not guarantee the life of peoples in isolation because the intangibility of the area is essential.
The ACR Aguas Calientes Maquia proposal overlaps in part with the RI SRDO request; its establishment would facilitate the surveillance and protection of the PIAs that inhabit the area. Inaction could jeopardize your existence.

Aguas Calientes Maquía is waiting for the approval of the Ministry of Culture, so that the consultation process that has been paralyzed for several months can begin.
