Iquitos. The Regional Directorate of Production (DIREPRO) of the Regional Government of Loreto (GOREL) issued Directorial Resolution No. 033-2020-GRL / DIREPRO that approves the sustainable capture quota of arahuana hatchlings for the Association of Artisanal Fishermen (APA ) of the Wicungo - Alto Tapiche Native Community, in the Loreto region.
The delivery of the resolution was carried out through a ceremony that took place on January 28 of the present in the city of Iquitos. The president of the APA of the Wicungo Native Community, representatives of the Amazon Indigenous Development Center (CEDIA) and the USAID-ProBosques Project participated in the event, who have been working hand in hand with the community, providing technical and financial assistance.
The sustainable quota established by GOREL is 66,425 larvae and / or fingerlings of Osteoglossum bicirrhosum "arahuana" corresponding to the 2019 campaign for the implementation of the "Fisheries Management Program (PROMAPE) period 2016-2020", coinciding with the scientific technical opinion of the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP).
