Cusco. On Wednesday July 18 of this year, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Cusco promulgated the Resolution of Official Recognition of the Asháninka Native Community Kaviniri, RD N ° 300 2018-GR CUSCO / DRAC. This is located in the district of Pichari, province of La Convencion, department of Cusco.
This recognition means the formalization of the legal existence of the native community for registration purposes. In this sense, a great first step is taking place to continue with other procedures that will allow the titling of their territories.
From CEDIA we celebrate the achievement of the Kaviniri Native Community, which we accompany within the framework of the Agreement signed with the DRA Cusco, and of the project “Landscape Restoration and Food Sovereignty in the Asháninka and Machiguenga native communities of the Apurímac River Valley”.
